Mumbai Indians’ (Mi) All Rounder Will Jacks revealed how he managed to keep the dangerous opening duo Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma Tiché during the game against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Thursday, April 17th. Jacks came right after PowerPlay and managed to make both dough when 2/14 in three over.
Off Spinner only distributed seven runs in his first and later released Ishan Kishan (2 off 3) and Travis Head (28 OFF 29) in the next two crossed to help me tighten the grip over the game. After his remarkable bowling performance against two aggressive openers, Jacks revealed that he planned to keep the ball out of his arch bowling wide.
“Yeah, we talked about using the whole goal. Both Batsmen, such as the use of legs and beat straight down the ground, so I was always ready to use a wide line. It doesn’t matter if I try to limit them, and I just have to have.
He also mentioned how he knew they would have come hard to be the sixth pitch, and therefore took advantage of the goal in his favor to get them out.
“So as long as I got the ball there and aggressively bowling and bowling hard, using a goal, that’s what I tried to do, I tried to get them out. I obviously turned against two left and always trying to take the goals and be aggressive.
After his brilliant bowling charm, Jacks also scored for me, scored 36 (26) and helped his team chasing the target 163 at 18.1 overs. As a result, he was deservedly convicted by the player of the match in his team’s victory. Jacks will be eager to continue his good form when he accepted Arch-Souvera Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Sunday, April 20 in Mumbai.
