The workshop explores the export potential of Wayanad products

As part of efforts to promote exports from Wayanad, a workshop titled ‘Wayanad to the World’ was held in Kalpetta recently.

The workshop was jointly organized by Kerala Exporters Forum, Wayanad Chamber of Commerce, Wayanad MLA Care and Canara Bank.

It was inaugurated by Agriculture Minister T. Siddique. Speaking at the event, Mr. Siddique said the meeting would help farmers secure better market prices for their produce by introducing Wayanad’s unique value-added products to international markets. He added that the program would be of great benefit to farmers who remain closely linked to agriculture and land.

Among those who spoke at the gathering were Vijaya Lakshmi, Head of Business, Canara Bank; Sangeetha Viswanathan, Chairperson, Spices Board India; M. Karuthamani, Joint Director, Coffee Board; and RK Sinha. Experts from various fields also spoke on various aspects of exports and value addition.

Kerala Exporters Forum President KM Hameed Ali presided. Usha Vijayan, MLA; Kerala Exporters Forum Secretary Munshid Ali; Wayanad Chamber of Commerce President Johny Pattani; and Chief Coordinator Wayanad MLA Care Kabir were among those present.
