Watch: Bruno Fernandes breaks Premier League assist record to cap stellar season

Bruno Fernandes added his 21st assist of the Premier League season as Patrick Dorgu put Manchester United in charge at Brighton. That completed a stellar season for Fernandes and United.

Bruno Fernandes broke the all-time Premier League record for assists in a season to cap a stellar campaign for Manchester United. Fernandes grabbed his 21st assist of the season from a corner as Patrick Dorgu put United ahead in Brighton.

Fernandes sent in a whipped cross from the corner and Dorgu rose above everyone to nod the ball in which bounced off the post and into the goal. There was a bit of doubt about the goal and whether it belonged to Dorgu when the ball hit the post and then Verbruggen got the last touch. But the Premier League awarded the goal to Dorgu and the record eventually belonged to the Portuguese midfielder. You can see the whole video here:
