
A 45 -year -old private employee from Hyderabad suffered a loss of over 1 lakh after her mobile phone was stolen during the bus trip from Tarnaka to Kachiguda.
The victim filed a complaint with the police within two days of the missing phone. “However, she soon noticed a number of unauthorized transactions from her bank account. The review of her bank statement revealed that 1,04,901 GBP was withdrawn from her bank account without her knowledge,” police officer said.
The authorities issued public counseling who urged citizens to take immediate steps in the case of theft: contact your mobile service provider and block the SIM card without delay.
“Use tools as“ Find my device ”(Android) or“ Find my iPhone ”(iOS) to lock or erase your phone remotely. Inform your bank to immediately block mobile banking, UPI and internet banking services. Avoid storing passwords, ATM card numbers, CVV details or other sensitive data in a simple text or phone note, ”she recommended the officer.
