The Andhra Pradesh Police has launched a single window system for issuing permits for setting up Ganesh pandals across the state without charging any permit fee, Director General of Police (DGP) Harish Kumar Gupta said on Wednesday.
The initiative aims to simplify the process, maintain a uniform standard, better coordination between various departments and for the peaceful conduct of the festival, the DGP said in a report.
Ganesh Utsav Committees and Pandal Organizers can log on to www.ganeshutsav.net and submit the required details regarding the proposed pandal and location.
The application will be directed to officials of police, fire department, municipality, electricity and revenue department for review and joint verification. A digital QR code based No Objection Certificate (NOC) will be issued after the verification is completed.
The state police chief has urged the Ganesh Utsav committees and organizers to use the online single window system and display the QR code at the pandal for verification. Organizers have also been asked to cooperate with officials to ensure a safe and peaceful conduct of Ganesh celebrations.
