HC seeks fresh opinion of OGH medical examiners on death of man in Warangal

Justice T. Madhavi Devi of the Telangana High Court ordered the Warangal police to seek the opinion of the head of forensic medicine at the Osmania General Hospital regarding the possible cause of death of Lydella Raju, who was found dead with injuries in October 2025.

The judge issued an order to dispose of a suit filed by Raju’s wife Priyanka, aggrieved by the opinion of an assistant professor at Kakatiya Medical College that Raju died of cardiac arrest. Geesugonda police closed the case. The Warangal police provided a copy of the medical examiner’s reply to a questionnaire from Police Commissioner Parkal regarding the person’s death. The judge noted that there was no substantive clarification as requested by the ACP and therefore the matter required a fresh review.

The judge ordered the OGH forensics department to examine all the materials related to the case and provide an opinion. Based on the report, the police should take appropriate action in accordance with the law, the direction said.

The purchase of land remained

Justice K. Sarath Kumar of the Telangana High Court passed an interim order staying the proceedings to acquire the property of nine persons for the Rajiv Rahadari Elevated Corridor project.

The petitioners, including non-generational member Kallakura Subrahmanyam, alleged that the orders issued to acquire their properties located along the proposed corridor were in violation of the Land Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013 and other laws.

Earlier, the judge had issued a similar interim order in December 2025 regarding the acquisition of properties for the elevated corridor project. In this case, the respondents including the State Government, Union Government (Defence), Defense Officer and Secunderabad Cantonment Board were called upon to file counter affidavits.
