Cuban leader Fidel Castro’s birth centenary celebration in Dharwad

Members of Niranjan Vedika and other organizations celebrated the birth centenary of Cuban leader Fidel Castro on August 28 in Dharwad.

BR Manjunath, President of Samakalina Vedike spoke about the history of the ‘Cuban Revolution’ and its salient features. He said the biggest lesson from this revolution was how to apply Marxism in different situations. He explained the communist principles adopted by leaders such as Fidel Castro and Che Guevara.

Journalist Siddanagouda Patil recalled his visit to Cuba and his meeting with Mr. Castro. He spoke about Cuba’s achievements in various fields and the struggle to build a socialist society.

The program was presided over by Convener HG Desai. Later, the sources engaged in a discussion with the young leaders about current events, including the Gen Z protest.
