Kuggeleijn’s controversial past

Kuggeleijn was charged in 2015 with sexual violence by rape and indecent assault involving two complainants. He was acquitted after the second trial, having previously faced a jury in the first trial. Despite the acquittal, Kuggeleijn’s selection for the New Zealand and home teams had previously sparked protests. In 2019, spectators at Eden Park displayed posters objecting to his inclusion in the New Zealand side.

Hampshire is languishing at the bottom

Meanwhile, Hampshire are currently tenth and last in the 2026 Rothesay County Championship Division One table, with their hopes of avoiding relegation hanging in the balance. Ben Brown’s side have amassed 86 points from 10 games, leaving them 16 points behind ninth-placed Leicestershire and 19 behind eighth-placed Surrey, a position that currently represents a line of safety.Hampshire’s position comes after their rain-affected draw against Glamorgan with just four County Championship games remaining in the campaign.
