CWC will have another meeting at Tummidihatti 3 weeks later

HYDERABAD

An inter-state meeting convened by the Central Water Commission (CW) between the irrigation/water officials of Telangana and Maharashtra to discuss technical and inter-state issues related to the construction of Tummidihatti barrage across Pranahita river proposed by Telangana in New Delhi ended without any decision on Tuesday.

The meeting, presided over by CW Chairman, was convened after a VIP reference by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. According to the irrigation managers, the Telangana authorities have submitted a report on the reasons for their proposal to increase the height of the dam from 148 meters (above mean sea level), as agreed by the two states in 2016, to 152 meters.

It was decided to meet again three weeks later to discuss the issue further. The meeting was attended by senior officials of the Irrigation and Water Resources Departments of both the states.
