LAM Research to offer 240-hour training to get people employed in electronics, mechanical assembly

Lam Research Corporation, an American semiconductor manufacturing equipment and solutions firm, said on Tuesday that it will launch the Lam Research Skill Development Program as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility initiative. It has launched training and placement support to help strengthen the talent pool for India’s advanced manufacturing sector, the company said.

By targeting individuals from socially and economically disadvantaged communities, the program would expand access to job-focused programs and employment opportunities that uplift historically underserved groups, he added.

“Through the Lam Research Skill Development Programme, we are investing in local talent and equipping participants with the skills and opportunities they need to succeed in manufacturing businesses across industries,” said Rangesh Raghavan, Corporate Vice President and Managing Director, Lam Research India.

According to LAM Research, key training components of the 240-hour program include fundamentals of electronics and mechanical assembly; production processes in workshops; quality and control procedures; safety, health and compliance; and workplace and employability skills. The program also includes structured assessments, hands-on practical exposures and work readiness modules. Participants who successfully complete the program will receive an industry-recognized certification in line with manufacturing industry requirements from the National Skill Development Council (NSDC) associate rating agency.
