The event was organized on 29 August 2026 to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Bharatiya Shikshan Prasarak Sanstha, an educational institution in the Kholeshwar region. The run covered a distance of about 3 km from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk to Bhagyanagar Chowk in Ambajogai.

Mrs. Ramabai Ranveer is the sole breadwinner of the family and works as a home cook to support her two daughters. One of her daughters is studying B.Sc. degree, the second is preparing for the police entrance exam.

“I wanted to win; that’s all I had in mind. I will bring books and fulfill other needs of my children (with the prize money),” says Ramabai Ranveer. Photo: Special arrangement

“Every day I run for my children’s future… today I ran for myself and my children,” Ms Ranveer told reporters.

Her daughter, Pooja Ranveer encouraged her to attend the event. “Mother finished first and I came second. I told my mother to run beside me. I told her that even if she came second or third, it would be fine, but she shouldn’t get tired during the race. She never gives up and that helped,” said Mrs. Pooja Ranveer, adding, “She likes to study a lot. My father died in an accident in Mumbai. Before that, I became a policeman, why I became a policeman. I was working in agriculture.”

“I wanted to win; that’s all I had in mind. I will bring books and fulfill other needs of my children (with the prize money),” Ms Ramabai Ranveer said.
