Maharashtra: 47-Year-Old Woman Runs Marathon in Barefoot Sari to Fund Daughters’ Education

A 47-year-old mother from Maharashtra’s Beed district, Ramabai Ranvir, ran a marathon barefoot in a saree and finished first ahead of younger participants to fund her daughters’ education. She won a cash prize of 3000 rupees and plans to use the money for her studies. Ranvir works as a cook at a coaching academy in Ambajogai where her elder daughter is enrolled. One daughter is preparing for bank exams while her other daughter, Puja, is preparing for police recruitment.
