US President Donald Trump took on to Truth Social on April 15 to announce what he called a “very large and exciting” commitment from the NVIDIA technology giant – an investment of $ 500 billion to build AI supercomputers exclusively in the United States.
In the Truth Social post, Trump wrote: “NVIDIA binds $ 500 billion to build AI supercomputers and moreover in the United States. This is a very big and exciting news.”
He added that his administration would ensure that all necessary permits were quickly monitored: “All necessary permits will be accelerated and quickly delivered NVIDIA because they will be all companies that undertake to be part of the Golden Age of America!”
Golden age
Trump’s contribution combines an alleged investment in a wider narrative about the campaign of the revitalization of American production and technological domination. Its use of the phrase “Golden Age of America” reflects its past promises to bring jobs and innovations back to American soil, especially in top sectors such as artificial intelligence, semiconductors and supercompoints.
The company will be carried out in cooperation with global heavy weights such as TSMC, Foxconn and Wistron, the company said.
Key projects across US states
The plan includes:
Production of Nvidia Blackwell AI chips in Phoenix TSMC in the Arizona factory.
Production of supercomputer in New Stapnts in Texas, which focuses on the increase in Foxconn and Wistron within 12 to 15 months.
The announcement will signal a deepening obligation to domestic chipping at a time when the US government offers politics support – and tariffs – to support local production.
Huang: “Increasing the Rupple Chain Resistance”
In a statement, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang stressed the strategic benefits of domestic production: “Adding American production helps us to better satisfy the incredible and growing demand for AI chips and supercomputers, strengthens our supplier chain and strengthens our resistance.”
The company said the initiative will lead to the creation of hundreds of thousands of jobs in the upcoming decades, thereby strengthening the local economy and ensuring supply chains against global disturbances.
The tariffs build over global supplier chains
The announcement came only a few days after the US government liberated electronics, such as smartphones and chips from mutual Chinese tariffs. However, Trump’s administration warned that a new rate on imported chips would be announced next week. Pressure forced companies like Nvidia and Apple to accelerate the US -based production.
NVIDIA is a thrust reflecting Apple, which committed to invest $ 500 billion in the US in February, including plans for AI racing in Texas.

Match with Washington
Although most NVIDIA chips are currently produced on Taiwan, the strategic pivot of the company for production based in the US is in line with other technology companies trying to avoid business sanctions and benefit from federal incentives.
The TSMC, the primary partner of NVIDIA, confirmed on Monday that he has already begun to produce NVIDIA chips in Arizona and strengthened the main milestone in American ambitions of chips.
