Ten days after the Police incident, the Southeast Division tracked a 29 -year -old taxi driver who was on the run after harassing a girl who went home with her boyfriend late on the night of April 3 in Suddagunepalya.
The accused, identified as Santosh D., worked as a taxi driver in Brookefield and lived with his mother and younger brother in Gulbarg Colony in Tilaknagar. The accused harassed one of the girls and fled the scene, the police said. Police filed a SUO MOT on the basis of the CCTV camera shots.
According to the police, the accused was drunk and the incident was caught by the CCTV camera installed outside the house in the area. While the victim did not make a complaint, the owner of the house warned the police after hitting the recordings.
Police analyzed shots from more than 150 CCTV cameras to identify the accused. The accused fled to Hosur after the CCTV shots were widely shared on social media platforms. He stayed in Hosuru in a friend’s house before he took the bus to Kozhikode, Kerala.
Police tracked the defendant in a house of another friend in Kozhikode on Sunday.
