Sanju Samson vs Rohan Bopanna: Indian Stars Meet in Wild Role Reversal Clash

Sanju Samson and Rohan Bopanna turned a simple crossover challenge into sheer sporting madness as cricket collided with tennis in The Role Reversal Challenge Part 1, a fun video uploaded by Wimbledon Championships to YouTube.

The concept itself was wild. Instead of traditional bowling, the bowlers had to serve the ball with a tennis racket while the batsman attempted proper cricket shots. Chaos, laughter and surprisingly serious competition ensued.

Bopanna started with a wide before Samson eased into the fight with one. Once he found his rhythm, the Kerala batsman showcased his classy strokeplay with a huge six down the ground, followed by a classy glance over fine leg for four. It looked like Samson had settled into the cricket quite comfortably until Bopanna decided to fire up.

The seasoned tennis star suddenly unleashed a 101 km/h racket that completely cleared Samson. If that wasn’t enough, Bopanna then clocked an incredible speed of 131 kmph, leaving Samson bouncing in discomfort and disbelief. It’s safe to say that the cricketer probably didn’t expect Wimbledon-level pace to hit him with a tennis racket.

Then it was Bopanna’s turn to bat and the mayhem continued. He missed the very first ball and was hit on the pads but bounced back quickly by smashing boundaries all over the place. Samson managed one dot, but Bopanna still ended up with four boundaries in his six-ball stay.

In the end, there was no real winner, except for the fans who got to watch two Indian sports stars merrily enter their world.

BOPANNA, SAMSON’S WONDERFUL CAREER

Rohan Bopanna and Sanju Samson have carved out inspiring careers in two completely different sports, but both have played a huge role in making India proud on the global stage.

One of India’s greatest doubles players, Bopanna has become a symbol of longevity and endurance in world tennis. He became world number one in men’s doubles and became the oldest Grand Slam champion in the Open Era after winning the 2024 Australian Open men’s doubles title alongside Matthew Ebden.

In a career spanning more than two decades, Bopanna won several ATP Masters titles and represented India at the Olympics, Davis Cup and Asian Games. He has also received the prestigious Padma Shri and Arjuna awards for his contribution to Indian tennis.

Meanwhile, Samson is one of the most exciting batsmen in India with his elegant strokeplay and fearless approach. From captaining Rajasthan Royals to playing several match-winning knocks for India, Samson has consistently entertained fans with his batting brilliance.

He recently won the Player of the Tournament award after India became the first team to successfully defend the ICC T20 Men’s World Cup title. Recently, Samson smashed multiple centuries in IPL 2026 against Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians.
