Power failure affected NEET-PG examination at two centers in Jaipur

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) on Sunday (August 30, 2026) constituted a three-member committee to probe the internal power failure that disrupted the NEET-PG 2026 examination at the iON Digital Zone iDZ Sitapura centers in Jaipur, Rajasthan, NBEMS sources said.

NBEMS conducted the NEET-PG 2026 examination on Sunday (August 30, 2026).

The exam was scheduled for 2,73,096 candidates at 1,111 examination centers in 339 cities, covering all 36 states and Union territories. A total of 2,65,980 candidates appeared for the exam. A total of 2,527 faculty members were appointed as independent evaluators to oversee the conduct of the examination. In addition, more than 700 senior faculty members, including deans, directors, medical superintendents and senior professors, were deployed as the Flying Squad.

“However, there was a technical outage at iON Digital Zone iDZ Sitapura Centres, Jaipur, Rajasthan (TC No. 41682 and 41683) where the examination for 2,445 candidates could not be completed due to internal power supply issues at the test centers due to TCS Ltd., the agency conducting the examination,” the health ministry agency said.

Scrutiny of the concerned candidates will be held on Saturday (5th September 2026) at 3 PM at Jaipur, Rajasthan.

A commission was set up to investigate the circumstances leading to the power outage and find out the reasons for the interruption. It includes a senior official from the Government of Rajasthan, a joint secretary level official from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and a senior engineer from the Central Electricity Authority.

The committee will examine the matter and submit a report within the stipulated time, sources said.

NBEMS regretted the inconvenience caused to the concerned candidates and said that a re-examination is being done to ensure that they get a fair and equitable opportunity.
