Artificial intelligence (AI) is reshaping the world, but the technology can only deliver its true potential if it is guided by human intelligence, creativity and judgment, said Santhosh Kumar, president and CEO of Texas Instruments.

Delivering the 22nd convocation address at the National Institute of Technology-Calicut (NIT-C) on Saturday (29 August 2026), he said that modern engineering is deeply interconnected and the boundaries between traditional disciplines are increasingly blurred.

Speaking on the occasion, Mathew P. Tharaniyil, President Bloom Companies, USA said that entrepreneurship is not an easy journey but every challenge is an opportunity to learn, grow and build something meaningful.

​A total of 2,134 students graduated, the highest number of graduates in NIT-C history. The graduating group included 1,162 BTech, 65 BArch, 18 MPlan, 575 MTech, 102 MSc, 76 MBA and 136 PhD graduates.
