Post Nadaswaram Exponent Sheik Chinna Moulan to Karnatic Music was dismissed on a two -day program organized by Dr. Chinnalouna Memorial Trust (DCMT) in Srirangam.
Event 12.-13. April presents the valediction of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Sheik Chinna Moulan and the 26th concert “Shardhanjali” (Hold) in memory of Maestro.
On Saturday evening, the Minister of the City Administration of KN Nezru, named the street where the exponent in Srirangam, as “Dr. Chinna Moulan Salai” stayed at a special ceremony. The district collector M. Pradeep Kumar, Mayor M. Anbazhagan and DCMT S. Kasim and S. Baba were present.
This was followed by the valedictory ceremony of the year -round centenary.
The celebrations of the 100th anniversary of birth began on April 5, 2024. In the US, tribute concerts were held in the US, Mumbai, Kumbakonami, Chennai and Tiruppur.
On Saturday at his presidential address, the mayor praised Sheik Chinna Moulana’s determination to his art, which was forced by Mangal Isai (favorable music) Nadaswar and Thakil on a global audience.
Originally from Karavadi, Andhra Pradesh, the Sheik Chinn Moullan family has more than three centuries of experience in playing Nadaswoam.
Mr. Kasim, his grandson and pupil, released a CD to Duraikanna Pillai under whose leadership Sheik Chinna Moullan chased his technique Nadaswaram.
The cash award of 25,000 GBP was awarded to Seniors Nadaswaam and Thvil artists VP Desabandh and B. Murugapopoopathi. In addition, the best Nadaswaram and Thvil were the artists S. S. Sethuraman and B. Arvintharaj fused with cash awards of 15,000 GBP for 2024-25.
Manufacturers of S. Senthil Kumar (Nadaswaram) and P. Srinivasan (Thvil) were felicitated. It deserves students from Nadaswaam and Thvil, which received instruments as gifts.
As part of the Saturday program, the voice concert of the exponent Saneep Narayan was accompanied by HN Bhaskar on the violin, Trivandrum Balaji on Mridangama and Anirudh Athreya in Kanjira.
The Hold on Sunday concert contains the instrumental recital Nadaswaram Exponent TS Pandiyan and TS Sethuram, accompanied by Thvil Vidwans Mr. Vasudevan and TG Babu.
