Four members of a family reportedly die by suicide in Pendurthi, Visakhapatnam
Four members of a family, including two children, reportedly ended their lives at the Chintala Agraharam in Pendurthi, Visakhapatnam on Saturday (August 29, 2026).
The deceased have been identified as M. Vinod Kumar, his wife Ahalya and their two children aged around three years and two years.
According to preliminary information, Kumar, who works as an autorickshaw driver, lived with his family in a rented house near his father-in-law’s residence in Chintala Agraharam.
The police are investigating the circumstances of the death and have not yet determined the exact sequence of events.
The family suspects that financial difficulties and alleged family disputes may have driven the couple to the extreme step, although the exact reasons have not yet been established.
The event caused tremors in the place. The police arrived at the scene and are investigating the cause. It was learned that Praveen Kumar had allegedly sent a message to his elder brother that the family was going to die. When relatives reached the house, all four members of the family were found dead.
The bodies were taken to King George Hospital (KGH) for post-mortem.
