Cricket betting racket busted, four arrested

The Chilakalapudi police arrested four persons accused of their alleged involvement in online betting on IPL cricket matches and recovered ₹36,000 in cash and eight mobile phones from their possession.

A police team headed by Machilipatnam DSP Ch. Srinivas Rao and Chilakalapudi Circle Inspector Sk. Abdul Nabi raided a house in Edepalli on Friday night and busted a betting racket.

They arrested P. Dharani Kumar, P. Ravi Kumar, Ch. Ravindra Kumar and I. Satyam, all originally from Machilipatnam, while betting on IPL cricket matches on mobile phones, district SP V. Vidyasagar Naidu Krishna said.
