The United States and Venezuela have struck what President Donald Trump called the “biggest oil deal in history.”
The deal with the South American nation will give the United States control of more than 65 billion barrels of proven oil reserves.
“The United States of America has just concluded an Agreement with Venezuela for the LARGEST OIL DEAL IN WORLD HISTORY! At my direction, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, working closely with the highly respected Interim President of Venezuela, Delcy Rodriguez, and through a partnership with private businesses, secured greater control over Oil 65 BARRE BILLION BILLION vLS reserves in the US. Venezuela, at no cost to the US Taxpayer taxpayer,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social.
Trump said the deal would “more than double” total oil reserves in the United States.
Deal will lower domestic gas prices: Trump
He also added that it would bring down domestic gasoline prices and help revive Venezuela’s economy.
“This historic transaction will MORE THAN DOUBLE America’s oil reserves, greatly increase our oil supply and substantially lower gas prices for all Americans, long into the future, while helping to continue to steer Venezuela toward great success and great prosperity. This transaction will greatly strengthen the already growing relationship between Venezuela and the United States,” Trump added on the groundbreaking! Thank you for your attention.
