The Communist Party of India (CPI) will try to defend the Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan if he attempts to attack the Cochin Minerals and Rutile LTD (CMRL) with the payout against Mr. Vijayan’s daughter, Veen Thaikandiyil.
The State Secretary of CPI Binoy Viswam told the media on Friday that the case was between two trade concerns, and that was a personal affair that his party did not want to comment on. “However, if someone tries to attack cm politically, the party will take a political position to ensure the political attitude of the left democratic front (LDF) of the government,” he said.
The party, said, will not prevent anyone in the competition for positions on ongoing organizational conferences. “The instructions provided by the party are in accordance with the Constitution of the Party.
He added that the CPI was the subject of LDF, because “we see LDF as a political hope for the nation, because BJP fascist policies are a great threat to the very existence of Indian secularism and federalism”.
The CPI State Council meeting, which ended here on Friday, witnessed some criticism against the style of the functioning of the left leading government. Some members raised that it was not a communist way to project one individual, Mr. Vijayan in this case as the only official in the government.
The State Council also approved a six -month suspension passed on to the leader of the party leader and the former national member for Ismail for his controversial statement of the death of P. Raja, former secretary of the district Ernakulm CPI.
