TN Govt reconstitutes Preventive Detention Advisory Board

The Tamil Nadu government recently revived the Tamil Nadu Preventive Detention Act 1982 Advisory Board and appointed retired Madras High Court judge Justice V Bharathidasan as its chairman. The Ministry of the Interior, Prohibition and Excise issued a government order to this effect on August 25. According to the order, P. Kalaiyarasan and V. Parthiban, both retired judges of the Madras High Court, were appointed as members. The order stated that the new chairman and members would immediately assume control of their functions.
