Government Focused on Strengthening Skill Development Ecosystem: Revenue Minister
Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Thursday performs ‘bhoomi puja’ for the construction of additional classrooms at a primary school in Gopalapuram village of Khammam district.
The Congress government has introduced several key skill development initiatives in the last two-and-a-half years to equip students with industry-relevant skills and transform them from job seekers to job creators, Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said.
He was speaking after conducting bhoomi puja for two more classrooms, estimated to cost ₹ 30 lakh, at Mandal Parishad Primary School in Gopalapuram village of Tirumalayapalem mandal in Khammam district on Thursday.
Outlining the initiatives, Mr. Srinivas Reddy said that Young India Skills University (YISU) was established in Hyderabad to impart practical skills through skill development programs in various sectors.
All Industrial Training Institutes (ITIIs) have been upgraded to Advanced Technology Centers (ATCs) as part of the state government’s efforts to strengthen the skill development ecosystem, he added.
The Congress government has accorded top priority to the education and health sectors, besides introducing welfare measures for farmers, women and other sections of the society, he said.
The minister appreciated a primary school teacher for spending ₹40,000 to construct a temporary shed on the school premises recently.
