A total of 12.90 ₹ Lakh was stolen from the cash chest ATM in Choutuppal in the early morning hours of Wednesday.
Theft came to light later at night, when a third -party representative responsible for the maintenance of an ATM filed a complaint with the local police.
“CCTV ATM cameras were not functional. The exact time of theft and the number of culprits involved is unclear,” the police said.
Police in Choutuppal registered the case and launched a probe. Forensic teams inspected the web and gather evidence, while shots from the surrounding devices are examined to follow any movement around the ATM.
The police suspect that theft could be carried out by individuals who are familiar with the maintenance and safety of ATM.
