Meet Zaid Khan, who became a ‘crorepati’ at the age of 22 and is now a student at IIM Bangalore | Today’s news

25-year-old businessman Zaid Khan claims to have amassed a fortune of approx 5 crores, due to the success of his business and his judicious investments in real estate. The founder of Zedital Media recently appeared on The Crore Club podcast, where he discussed his entrepreneurial journey, financial milestones and principles that have shaped his career.

Despite already running a profitable company, Khan said he is continuing his studies at IIM Bangalore, stressing that learning remains his priority.

During the interview, podcast host Shreya Hegde pointed out the contrast between Khan’s career and that of his classmates.

“You are a student at IIM Bangalore. Your classmates are killing themselves right now preparing for interviews that will fetch them 35-40 lakhs a year. But you are running a business,” Hegde said, asking if he had any advice for budding entrepreneurs.

‘Start selling something’

Responding to a question, Khan encouraged the youth to start earning from their skills and said even small transactions can help build confidence.

“You should start selling something, whether it’s a skill, advice, whether it’s 100 bucks, 200 bucks. That will build your confidence to a good level,” said the 25-year-old founder.

He also urged budding entrepreneurs to develop a strong online identity.

“The second thing I would suggest is to build your online presence. Content is your digital currency, and when you’re not available online, I feel like you’re invisible. So that’s a very important thing,” he added.

What does Zedital Media do?

Khan’s emphasis on creating an online presence reflects the nature of his own business. He said his company’s primary focus is on branding and marketing services.

“I am the founder of Zedital Media Private Limited. It is a media advertising company but the main and broad umbrella is branding,” he said.

Explaining the firm’s work, Khan added: “So we do branding and personal branding for people. Apart from that, we do meme marketing and content distribution, which again is part of branding.”

He further stated that the company also provides specialized services such as “ORM – Online Reputation Management, CDM – Content Distribution Management, PAM – On LinkedIn, Profile Amplification Management.”

From a NEET aspirant to an entrepreneur

Before starting the business, Zaid Khan had a very different career path in mind. He said he grew up in a middle-class family where studying medicine was considered a natural choice and was encouraged to prepare for the NEET exam.

“I come from a middle-class family, everyone was telling me to become a doctor and the second best option I heard was that you can do engineering and you can do MBBS,” he revealed.

Rather than taking that route, Khan began working with YouTube creators before branching out into freelance work, including a project with a California influencer. He later decided to study journalism and mass communication instead.

Recalling the turning point, he said, “So I shifted from NEET to Journalism and Mass Comm. My parents trusted me and admitted me to this journalism 10 days before. I started with a Canon 80D camera. So that was my first step, I never looked back. I started a production house…”

First million at 22

Khan said he became a crorepati in 2023 when he was 22 years old and has continued to expand his business ever since. Although he already runs a successful company, he is currently studying at IIM Bangalore to strengthen his academic foundation.

Khan explained his decision to return to the classroom: “The main area where I felt I was falling behind was academics. So I’m learning and implementing in my business at the same time.”
