Los Angeles Lakers Luka Doncic returned to Dallas on Wednesday 9 April during the regular NBA game. He plays against his former team for the first time since the Lakers trading. The five-time All-Star led the Lakers to win 112-97 over Mavericks and finished the game 45 points.
Before the tip, Mavericks played a tribute video that emphasized Doncic’s time in Dallas. From the crowd in the American Airlines Center he received a permanent ovation, where he spent seven seasons and led the team to the NBA finals in 2024.
In an interview with Postgame with Lisa Salters ESPN, Doncic mentioned that one of his favorite memories from his time in Dallas was a key shot he made during the final of the Western Conference 2024 against Minnesota Timberwolves.
“We have always been a loser in each series, so the way we played and joined together was just another level,” Doncic said. “These are my brothers. I will always stay in touch with them.”
“I don’t know how I did it. Because when I watched this video, I was glad:” There is no way to play this game. “

Doncic acknowledged that while he is now with another team, he still appreciates the relationships and Play -off, who shared with his former teammates.
Fans respond to the return of bows
Mavericks fans warmly welcomed Doncice and encouraged him all night. However, some fans showed frustrations from Front Office by singing “Fire Nico”, referring to CEO Nico Harrison, who traded Doncic early this year.
Doncic’s performance did not disappoint in court. His 45-point effort reminded fans a high-level game he had permanently released in Dallas over the years.
Lakers will face Phoenix Suns in their next game on Friday, while Mavericks will try to bounce back when they host Denver Nuggets.
