DSC-2003 Teachers Federation thanks CM for restoring OPS

The Federation of Teachers, Police Personnel and Employees Union DSC-2003 thanked Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for reviving the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) at a meeting near Mangalagiri on Sunday.

The participants expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for scrapping the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) and extending OPS benefits to around 11,000 teachers, staff and police officers.

Federation Coordinator KL Srinath, presiding over the meeting, said it was encouraging that the state government had revived the OPS in accordance with Memorandum No. 57 issued by the Centre.

Rajya Sabha member Bhashyam Ramakrishna said that Mr. Naidu has consistently adopted a positive approach to solving the problems of employees and the restoration of OPS reflects this commitment.

MLCs Alapati Rajendra Prasad, Vepada Chiranjeevi and Kancharla Srikanth said the OPS will provide social security to employees after retirement.

Former MLCs Paruchuri Ashok Babu and AS Ramakrishna, BJP leader Valluri Jayaprakash Narayan and others addressed the rally.
