“The Congress will now demand accountability from the BJP government for the paper leaks in Parliament,” says Hooda

Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda said that after the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan, the BJP-led central government must now apologize to the youth of the country, even as the Congress will now hold the government accountable for the paper leaks in Parliament.

“If Mr. Pradhan had accepted the moral responsibility and resigned at the very beginning, the innocent students would not have had to face lathi charges or endure such a long struggle,” he said at a press conference here.

“The government must now apologize to the youth, the future of the country, which it has subjected to lathi charge and brutality. Also, the examination system must be transparent enough to eliminate any possibility of future paper leaks,” he added.

The former chief minister said the problem of paper leakage has reached epidemic proportions across the country and the youth has been forced to take to the streets in protest due to the apathy of the BJP government. “In response, the Congress party under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi started a nationwide movement through ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’. In the end, the BJP was forced to give way to this mass movement. The Congress will now hold the government accountable for the paper leaks in Parliament,” he said.

Mr Hooda said around 7.5 lakh candidates were affected by repeated paper leaks during the BJP government. “This problem is not limited to entrance exams and rampant paper leaks are also occurring in various recruitment exams. The unemployment crisis is such that 9 million youths apply for only 6 million jobs every year,” he said.

“Haryana has become a hub for paper leaks, citing details of more than 30 such incidents that took place in the state during the tenure of the BJP government,” he said. “The whole racketeering of exam papers and jobs is active all over the country including Haryana. The problem has become so serious that it is proving fatal. 26 candidates have committed suicide across the country, upset over the NEET paper leak itself,” he said.
