On Sunday (April 6, 2025), the participants of several RAM guides Navami in West Bengal were observed by the ozbroching weapons, despite the challenges of administration to avoid these practices.
In videos shared on social media and broadcasting by Bengal’s intelligence channels, Trident, knives, swords, axes and machetes were seen participants of the RAM of Navami throughout the state, including Siuri, Barasat, Howrah, Kankinara, Berhampore, etc.
Police confiscated several weapons from the parade of RAM Navami in Siuri in the Birbhum district in West Bengal, where they were also seen that they were not flying. The weapons were also seen at the assembly elsewhere in the district, as in Rampurhat, where participants, including children, were infested with bows and arrows, various types of swords, wooden sticks and metal rods.
In Kankinara in the north 24 Parganas District, leader Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Arjun Singh seen to sound the ax during the RAM parade through the Hindu group.
Meanwhile, the weapons were also visible in the parade in Tamluk in the Purba Medinipur district, where the leader of BJP Dilip Ghosh was present. In particular, Mr. Ghosh has previously asked questions about why Hindu groups should not be allowed decorative weapons during RAM parades in West Bengal.
Participants of RAM Navami in Barasat also marked swords, tridents, knives and pointed Maces, while singing the slogans “Jai Shree Ram”.
It is worth noting that when granting permits for parades of RAM Navami for Hindu groups Vishwa Hindu Parisad and Anjani Putra hay in Howrah, the bench of Kalcata High Court Tirthankar Ghosh ordered that no participant should wear weapons, including a wand. However, flags and plastic were allowed.
However, the RAM participants in Howrah were seen with weapons on Sunday.
In many parades across the districts, the participants of the swords and chopsticks were presented.
“This year we walked and gathered all over those who stopped us to pull RAM Navami rang before. Every year we will carry out the rally RAM Navami. Bharat is Ram’s country,” said Trade Union Minister and President of the Sukanta Majumder on Sunday.
