The heritage city must be clean, says Senior Collector Sedhu Madhavan

Vizianagaram Chief Collector Sedhu Madhavan on Saturday (May 23, 2026) asked people from all walks of life that government employees should strive hard to make Fort City one of the cleanest cities in the country. He said the value of heritage city of Andhra Pradesh would increase if it looks good with cleanliness. As part of the clean drive, he participated in sanitation work, painting dirty walls, planting saplings at various places in Vizianagaram.

Speaking to the media on the occasion, he said that cities like Indoor, Navi Mumbai, Surat and Visakhapatnam were getting Union Government Swachh Survekshan positions consistently with the joint efforts of public and civic bodies of respective corporations.

He urged people not to throw garbage on roads and drains and open spaces as it would lead to many problems and health hazards. Vizianagaram MLA Aditi Vijayalakshmi and Vizianagaram Municipal Commissioner B. Bala Swamy were present.
