Cyber security takes center stage at ‘Coffee with a Cop’ gathering in Hyderabad

Young professionals were urged to remain vigilant against evolving cyber threats and adopt responsible digital practices at the sixth edition of the ‘Coffee with a Cop’ series organized by Cyberabad Society Security Council (SCSC) in collaboration with Cyberabad Police and Telangana Rising at the Wipro campus in Gopanpally on Thursday.
The session on ‘Connected, Unconsumed: Navigating the Digital Age’ featured Sai Sri, SP (Cyber Crime and Operations), Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB) who spoke about the growing risks posed by online financial fraud, phishing attacks, QR code scams, fake investment schemes, social engineering, deepfakes, OTP scams.
Interacting with the participants, the officer urged the young professionals to remain vigilant online, verify information before trusting it and practice proper cyber hygiene. Emphasizing that every digital action carries responsibility, she reiterated the message: “Every choice. Every click. Every consequence.”
The session also included an interactive question and answer segment during which attendees sought advice on how to protect themselves from cyber fraud, secure personal data, identify emerging digital threats and respond effectively if they become a victim of cybercrime.
Sai Sri also reflected on balancing her responsibilities as a senior police officer and a mother, highlighting the importance of digital awareness among young people and the role of parents, educators and communities in promoting responsible online behaviour.
