When Senior Vice President of the Congress Committee Tamil Nadu and the long -term face of A. Gopann’s party met with former Sonio Gandhi Party Party on March 28 in Nový Delhi, it was not another meeting between the state wearer and one of the key decision staff in Congress.
After Mr. Gopanna got to know each other for more than 15 years, he gathered thousands of rare and old photographs of former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nezru (1889-1964) and others in her family, Mrs. Gandhi wanted to save 700 photos for Jawahal Nezru Memorial Fund.
The functional function at the state level used all these photographs in its biography in English, which was launched by former Pranab Mukherjee (1935-2020) in Nový Delhi in May 2018, in the presence of late Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, former vice president of M. Hamid Ansari and veteran journalist N. RAM. The Tamil version has been brought since then.
“After creating an exhausting biography in Tamil at Kamaja, I started collecting photos nest in 2007 and continued for 10 years,” said Mr. Gopanna, adding, “I currently have 7,000 pictures.” Many of these photographs came from the Nezru Memorial Museum and the Library Society, now called the Premis Minister of Museum and Library Society. In Pen Drive, Mrs. Gandhi handed over to the project of the website of all 7,000 images.
Mr. Gopanna continues to visit several other libraries in Nový Delhi to collect numerous historical pictures.
After completing his book on Nezru, he decided to cover Indira Gandhi (1917-1984) and Rajiv Gandhi (1944-1991), also former premieres. “I have about 3,000 images of Indra-Ji and 2,500 rajiv-ji, except for 3,500 photos of friends,” he said. His collection of several thousand photographs includes other personalities.
In August, Mr. Gopanna hopes to bring a book table on Indra Gandhi. “The Tamil version will first be outside, followed by the English version a few months later. Similarly, I hope that by covering Rajiv Gandhi,” Gopanna said, adding that he wanted to authorize the book about the history of the Tamil Nadu Congress Committee, which has completed more than 100 years.
