AP cabinet approves security plan for Godavari Pushkaram, weaver assistance scheme, infra proposals

The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet on Thursday approved a series of proposals aimed at strengthening security arrangements for the Godavari Pushkaralu-2027, supporting manual labourers, promoting industrial development and promoting infrastructure projects across the state.

The decisions were taken in a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.

Briefing the media later, Information and Public Relations (I&PR) Minister Kolusu Parthasarathy said the Cabinet approved a proposal to extend the government’s ₹300 million term loan guarantee to the Andhra Pradesh State Cooperative Marketing Federation (AP MARKFED).

The cabinet approved a special security and crowd management plan for the Godavari Pushkaralu to be held in June-July 2027. It approved an allocation of ₹50 crore for security and crowd management measures for the event and ratified the allocation of fire brigade modernization work to four state agencies under the 15th Grant-in-Aid Finance Commission, he said.

The cabinet also approved the implementation of the ‘Nethannala Sevalo’ scheme to provide financial assistance to handloom workers. Under this scheme, eligible families of manual laborers below the poverty line will get ₹25,000 per year.

More suggestions

As part of efforts to attract investment and promote clean energy, the government has approved several proposals related to renewable energy projects and infrastructure development. Land approvals have been granted for energy, tourism and industrial projects, including initiatives to expand green energy capacity in the state.

The Cabinet approved the framework for the implementation of the Bharat Audyogik Vikas Yojana (BHAVYA) center in Andhra Pradesh. AP Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) has been designated as the nodal agency for the development of industrial parks under this initiative. The move would help create industry-specific industrial hubs and accelerate manufacturing growth.

The cabinet also approved measures to facilitate development of aeronautical and aviation infrastructure, expansion of healthcare and revival of closed engineering institution through Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University-Anantapur, the minister said.
