The CJP’s reaction came soon after Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Thursday that the government had decided to set up fast-track courts to ensure swift and severe punishment of those involved in the paper leak.
This was it Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s first major reaction to the protests held in the national capital over the paper leaks and growing demands for the resignation of the Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
“Paper leaks are not happening because fast track courts were missing in India. They are happening because Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has been completely incompetent. He has failed to build a safe and reliable examination system. Today the youth of this country demand one thing above all else – accountability.” said Ranka.
The CJP reiterated that it will continue its protests until the government accepts its demands for the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan, ₹1 million in compensation to the families of children who died by suicide and no prosecution of peaceful protesters during the July 20 march to Parliament.
“The President’s proposed solution is like putting a Band-Aid on a broken bone. The problem runs much deeper. Our investigative system is rotten from the inside. If systemic failures are not addressed, there will be paper leaks.” said Ranka.
Large-scale protests continued at Tolstoy Marg and Janpath in the state capital on Wednesday as activists and students continued to demonstrate against the Center over exam paper leaks and systemic problems in education.

As the demonstration escalated, several protesters attempted to block moving traffic, with some reportedly throwing water bottles onto the road. Others lay down on the road and caused significant traffic disruption, news agencies said.
Ranka said students don’t need promises of lengthy legal processes. “They deserve immediate justice and accountability. That accountability must begin with a stern crackdown on Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.” he said.
Rahul Gandhi also reacts
Reacting to the Prime Minister’s remarks, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on the central government and refused to budge on the NEET paper leak issue.
Accusing the government of protecting those responsible for systemic failures in the education system, Gandhi wrote on X: “You are the one who has most damaged the future of our youth. You have allowed and encouraged the total capture and destruction of our education system – and you have protected every person responsible for it.”

Echoing the opposition’s demands, Gandhi called for the immediate dismissal of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and an official apology to students.
