Students should promote national integrity, unity: Vice-President CP Radhakrishnan

Vice President of India CP Radhakrishnan said in Coimbatore on Wednesday that it is important that students always support the integrity and unity of the nation.

“Today, India is in a position to dictate terms or give an appropriate response to international forces only because we are united,” Mr Radhakrishnan said at Coimbatore International Airport, while declining to comment on the student protest in Delhi.

“It’s a political question and political leaders will answer it,” he said.

Asserting that students should always be united, Mr. Radhakrishnan urged them to come forward and protect the unity of the nation. “Our voice will resonate globally only if the nation is united,” he said.

Asked about the new government in Tamil Nadu, he told reporters, “You (the media) yourself say that they are new. Giving time to the new government in Tamil Nadu is everyone’s wish, your wish and mine.”
