Carpenter died after a water tanker ran over his bike in Narsingi

A water tanker involved in an accident.

A 28-year-old carpenter died and another sustained serious injuries after their motorcycle was hit from behind by a speeding water tanker near Puppalguda Toll Gate in Narsinga on Tuesday evening. The tanker then hit a car and a scooter before stopping, police said.

The deceased has been identified as Sushil Kumar, a native of Uttar Pradesh’s Banda district, while the injured Suresh has been admitted to hospital. Both lived in Lakshmiguda (Katedan) and worked as carpenters.

According to police, the two were returning home on a motorbike after finishing work at a flat in Hafeezpet when they were hit by a water tanker at around 8pm.

Sushil Kumar, who was riding the pillar, died on the spot, while Suresh, who was driving the motorcycle, sustained serious injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Police said the tanker driver, identified as Ranjith Simha, continued driving after the collision and rammed into the car and the scooter.

Narsingi police have registered a case. The body was taken to Osmania General Hospital mortuary for post-mortem and further investigation is underway.
