AP JAC presses for pay panel, interim help

AP JAC Amaravati on Wednesday urged the Andhra Pradesh government to resolve the long-standing financial problems of employees, teachers, pensioners and contract and outsourcing employees after the Joint Staff Council meeting with Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav.

The employee body sought the establishment of the 12th commission for the revision of wages, the sanction of interim relief, the release of pending installments of allowance for the care of the disabled and the settlement of arrears of wages and pensions.

The AP JAC decided to shelve its proposed agitation after the government assured it of positive discussions on the pending demands. The government said all matters raised by the employee representatives would be placed before Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for a decision soon.

The AP JAC said that the state secretariat meeting scheduled for August 2 will assess the government’s response and decide on the next course of action.
