The opposition Congress and BJP on Thursday (April 3, 2025) demanded the resignation of the main Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on the basis of reports that his daughter, T. Veen, was appointed a serious fraud investigation office (SFIO) in the “illegal payments” scandal.
According to SFIO investigations, SFIO revealed financial fraud of 182 Crore in a mining company, which also accuses several others. She stated that fraud was made by inflating non -existent expenditure and creating false accounts.
The President of the Congress Committee Keral Pradesh K. Sudhan, a deputy, called for the immediate resignation of Mr. Vijayan and urged that the ongoing CPI party (m) in Madurai seriously took over.
Neither the main minister, who is currently in Madurai, nor Mrs. Veena did not respond to the news and claimed that the investigation found that the CRORE received 2.7 GBP from a private mining company without providing any service. The reports also claim that the Ministry of Trade Union for Business Affairs has granted the approval of the prosecution proceedings.
The reported step came almost a week after the Keren High Court rejected the request of the MLA Kuzhalnadan Congress, who was looking for a probe against Mr. Vijayan for alleged financial transactions between the disappeared company of his daughter and a private mining company. Mr. Kuzhalnadan moved the High Court against the trial of vigilance, which dismissed his action for investigation against Mr. Vijayan for alleged financial transactions between the private mining company Cochin Minerals and Rutile LTD (CMRL) and IT became his daughter.
The Court dismissed the lawsuit, saying that the MLA “failed” to place the vigilance in court, which represents the facts of corruption claiming against Mr. Vijayan, his daughter and its IT company.
Sudhan responded to the new development in this case and said, “This is a crime punished up to 10 years in prison. He also claimed that Mr. Vijayan had met Union Nirmal Sithaman’s Minister in Keral’s house in Delhi to seek way out.
“Despite the efforts of honorary officials, they could not avoid this case,” he said, warning that if the party of the party in Madurai continued to protect Mr. Vijayan, it would mean the beginning of CPI fall (m). He called on the party to take a fundamental attitude towards this matter.
BJP State President Rajeev Chandrasekhar also demanded Mr. Vijayan’s resignation. When he talked to reporters in Kochi, he claimed extensive corruption and called for an impartial investigation. “BJP will start protests that require Mr. Vijayan’s resignation,” he said.
Mr. Chandrasekhar, a former Minister of Trade unions, also accused CPI (M) and Congress of the “Secret Agreement”, with citing an attitude to the draft law on WAQF (amendment). “Now, fresh corruption fees have emerged against CPI (m),” he added.
The opposition leader VD Satheesan described the reports as “a matter of maximum severity” and stated that the accusation of SFIO confirms the accusation of receiving payments without providing any service. The crime committed by the daughter of the main minister carries a potential punishment for up to 10 years in prison, he added.
Congress also called for a protest on Friday under the auspices of all Mandalam Congress committees and burned the similar to Mr. Vijayan. The protests will also take place in the district headquarters, said the Secretary General of KPCC M. Liju.
