Main Minister Assam Himanta Bisw Sarma praised the “powerful” address of the Minister of the Interior Amita Shah on the amendment of the WAQF law in parliament on Thursday (April 3, 2025).
“Who are you trying to scare? Is it the law of parliament – everyone will follow and accept.
Mr. Sarma said Mr. Shah has greatly demonstrated the courage and determination of the determination of a new India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“From the abolition of Article 370, the enactment of the Citizenship (CAA) Act, the abolition of the Triple Talaq, the progress towards the Single Civil Act (UCC), to the recent change of the WAQF law – it is a bold and haller and neapologically acquisition of our civilization roots,” he said on X.
“India is growing, rooting in her cultural trust and mapping her course with clarity, courage and belief,” he wrote.
Mr. Sarma and some ministers by Bharatiya Janata were accused of municipal remarks against Muslims, specifically Bengal speakers who were often perceived as Bangladeshi, threatening to change the demography of the state.
