The independence and acceptance of the Constitution in 1950 never had such a serious attack on the principle of federalism, which is the basic principle of the Constitution, said the leader of the Indian (Marxist) (Marxist) leader of Prakash Karat on Thursday (April 3, 2025).

Today, whether in all aspects of relations between the center-state, whether political or economic or fiscal, the Union’s government systematically undermines federal principles. The Constitution says India is a state of states, but today the states that make up the Union are reduced to subordinate status and “must go like mendicants” to obtain resources and resources that are their right to request, Karat said.
“What needs to be divided between center and states that are also systematically violated,” he said, adding that the governors “interfered” in administration in the states.
The opposition states were discriminated against to the extent that even if there was a natural calamity or disaster, non-BJP states were deprived of funds, he said.
“In Kerala, after the Wayanad disaster (landslides), despite the intervention of the Supreme Court in the Kerala, the state did not receive the funds needed for rehabilitation and reconstruction of damaged areas,” he added.
It is good that state governments ruling opposition are fighting for federalism, which also means the struggle for democracy, Karat said.
The Regulation on the Regulations of the Commission for Grants at the University, which has created many states against the Committee on the Committee, will lead to state universities, who should be vice -chairman, added.
He noted that the change would lead to Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) to choose vice -chairman.
In order to defend their rights in several areas, all governments and organizations that believe in secularism and democracy should apply to save the country and move forward in progressive, democratic and secular lines, Karat said.
