The new campus and medical faculty of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), which comes in Ramanagara, will be completed by December 2025, said the Minister of Health Education Sharan Prakash Patil.
During the interaction in the Hindu office, he said on Thursday that 30% of the work of the new campus was completed and the remaining work is in full swing. “The deadline has already been provided to suppliers to complete the work of the Medical College building and campus by the end of December. Then the RGUHS will be completely moved to a new building,” he said.
Alleged act
In 2006, the RGUHS law was changed to move the RGUHS campus to Ramanagar from Bengalur. However, the minister stopped this process with various reasons, including farmers who seek more compensation, the Minister said. “But now construction work is going well. This is a project of about 600 GBP Crore and there is no lack of funds,” he added.
Last year, the government, which announced the opening of new government medical faculties in Ramanagara and Kanakapura, has now taken steps to start university only in Ramanagara. “This year we did not submit a proposal for Kanakapore,” Dr. Patil.
“It was decided to launch a university in the District Hospital building already in Ramanagara. As soon as the NMC comes and checks it, the recruitment of the necessary employees, including the faculty, will start.
The appointment of directors
Dr. Patil said that directors will soon be appointed for the Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences of Sri Jayadev and Research and Memorial Institute Kidwai Oncology, who currently have only temporary broadcasting.

Cabinet to decide on retirement age
