Land scam: TDP pushes for arrest of ex-speaker Thammineni, a relative

Vizianagaram Telugu Desam Party parliamentary wing leader and Vizianagaram District Cooperative Central Bank Chairman Kimidi Nagarjuna on Tuesday asked the police department to immediately arrest former chairman Thammineni Seetharam and family members T.Vani and T.Chiranjeevi Naga as their involvement in the alleged Srikakulam land scam has been proved beyond doubt.

Addressing the media, Mr. Nagarjuna said that the creation of forged documents and certificates of legal heirs at the behest of Mr. Seetharam was proved two days ago. He said all other seven persons in the case have been arrested and the remaining accused, including Mr. Seetharam, must be arrested immediately.

Mr. Nagarjuna alleged that YSRCP leaders had occupied prime land on Ring Road, though records showed that members of the Pusapati family were the legal heirs to the property. He alleged that the then YSRCP government tampered with the records and handed over land to YSRCP leaders on lease basis for construction of party office. He asked the finance and police departments to initiate a fresh investigation and return the land to the Pusapati family.
