Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday told NDA MPs that the government has prioritized the NEET re-test and ensured that the results are declared without delay so that the future of students is not affected. He said this during a meeting of the NDA parliamentary party “Mangal Milan”.
Briefing reporters after the meeting, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said the prime minister stressed that the government “stands with the students” and called for strict action against those responsible for the alleged NEET paper leak.
Rijiju appealed against the politicization of the issue and said the paper leaks were a matter of national interest.
“During the NEET exam, the Prime Minister said that we stand with the students. Those involved in the paper leak must face strict action after consulting top lawyers. Paper leaks are a matter of national interest and must not be politicized. Strict action should be taken not only by the centre, but also by states where paper leaks occur,” ANI quoted Rijiju as saying.
Terming the NDA parliamentary party meeting as “very fruitful”, Rijiju said the Prime Minister guided the MPs on several important issues, including India’s recent achievements and the free trade agreements it has signed with various countries.

He highlighted the achievements of the country in recent months and talked about the free trade agreements signed with various nations,” ANI reported.

The comments follow a protest by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on Monday over the alleged leak of the NEET-UG 2026 paper. The protesters were met with force as they demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. During the agitation, several people were injured when the police carried out a ‘lathi-charge’ against the protesters. Even tear gas was used to prevent students from marching to Parliament during the ongoing monsoon session.

The Rajya Sabha proceedings were adjourned till 12 noon after the opposition raised issues of lathi charge and tear gas by students protesting against the NEET paper leak. Meanwhile, opposition leaders have demanded a detailed discussion in the monsoon session of Parliament on the alleged brutality of students and the NEET exam paper leak crisis.
Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi said he met Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla along with opposition MPs over the issue. In a post on X, he wrote: “He met the Lok Sabha Speaker today along with opposition MPs. Our demand is simple: Parliament must discuss in detail the brutality unleashed on students yesterday and the government’s total lack of accountability for the exam crisis.”
