Andhra Pradesh allocates ₹51 crore for repairs to GGH and medical colleges

The Andhra Pradesh government has earmarked ₹51 crore for minor renovations and repairs in Government General Hospitals (GGHs) and Government Medical and Dental Colleges across the state.

The allocation follows requests from superintendents and directors of 13 GGHs and 13 medical and dental faculties seeking funds for infrastructure works. Based on proposals prepared by the director of medical education, the Ministry of Health, Medical and Family Welfare has sanctioned ₹34.07 crore for GGH and ₹16.92 crore for medical and dental colleges, according to a report released on Monday.

King George Hospital in Visakhapatnam received the highest allocation of ₹ 8.77 crore among GGHs. GGHs at Srikakulam, Vijayawada and Kakinada have been allocated ₹5.20 crore, ₹4.10 crore and ₹2.94 crore respectively.

Among medical colleges, Kakinada Medical College was sanctioned ₹3.68 crore, Andhra Medical College, Visakhapatnam ₹1.28 crore and Guntur Medical College ₹1.11 crore.
