After completing the reconstitution of 377 mandals – mid-level organizational units that oversee party activities for 40-50 polling stations – the Haryana BJP is now focusing on local outreach with a statewide exercise to strengthen 4,729 Shakti Kendras – micro organizational units that cluster five to six booths.
Addressing workers from Panchkula at the state ‘Panchkamal’ office on Sunday and later in other districts online, state president Archana Gupta said strengthening Shakti Kendras was the “need of the hour”. Ms. Gupta directed that simultaneous meetings be held in all Shakti Kendras on July 21.
Sharing food
In the new design of party meetings, these meetings were labeled as “Tiffin Meetings”. As per the plan, every worker, official and speaker attending the Shakti Kendra meeting will bring packed food from home and share it together.
“When all the party workers, officials, speakers and public representatives come with pumpkins from their homes and eat together, it will strengthen mutual camaraderie,” Gupta said.
Chief Minister Nayab Saini will preside over the meeting at Pinjore Shakti Kendra with tiffin from home. Ms. Gupta will attend the Rai Shakti Kendra in Sonipat, also with home-cooked food. Organization Secretary Phanindranath Sharma will be present at Gannaur Shakti Kendra.
She instructed that all BJP office bearers, workers and elected representatives living in the Shakti Kendra area must attend.
Key tasks
The leadership also highlighted three key tasks: formation of booth committees, listening to the Prime Minister’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ at all booths and uploading details on the party’s ‘Saral’ portal. Particular emphasis was placed on the party’s “digital learning program” for workers.
Party officials said the ‘Tiffin Meeting’ model is aimed at building stronger alliance and coordination at the booth level ahead of the upcoming organizational and electoral challenges.
