13-year-old found dead in Kasaragod

A 13-year-old Class 7 student was found dead at his family’s rented work premises near Perla in Kasaragod on Sunday (July 19, 2026). The Badiadka police registered a case of unnatural death and started an investigation.

The boy, whose parents worked as rubber tapmen, was alone at home after they had gone to buy ingredients for the payasam he had requested earlier in the day. When they returned and received no answer, they broke open the locked door and found him. He was taken to a hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.

According to relatives, the boy recently underwent medical tests after developing lumps on his neck and was upset after doctors allegedly suspected cancer. Police said all aspects of the incident are under investigation.
