The project of the Museum of Kudiyetta Smarakam (Memorial Settlement Memorial) will soon be inaugurated in IDUKKI. The museum, which will exhibit sculptures depicting the history of migration to idukki from different parts of the state, is established by the Ministry of Tourism at the cost of PF 3 GBP Crore. It develops in the idukki area park The Arch Dam.
The sculptures will be displayed in six different exhibits inside the museum, which will include five acres of soil. Officials say that the construction work of the memorial is almost completed and will soon be open to tourists.
The 36.5-foot entrance welcomes tourists to the memorial. The statues of farmers and their protests include agitation led by the Communist leader and former opposition leader in Lok Sabha AK Gopalan (AKG) and Fr. Joseph Vadakkan. Statues showing AKG and Fr. Vadakkan displays its interactions with farmers in the background of the settlement village.
Conflicts in the district of the human animal in the district will also find a place in the museum. The initial practices of farmers for the persecution of wild animals from agricultural land will be exposed. Other attractions will be portraits of early agricultural practices.
During the early settlement period, natural calamities for farmers were an obstacle. In the museum, portraits of the villagers affected landslides will present a window in the middle of natural disasters since then. This part will also include displays about rescue operations, damaged houses and pets. You will also see the exhibits from the time after calamity showing normal life.

The secretary of the district tourism (DTPC) Jitheesh Jose says that the project will be a new attraction in IDUKKI. “DTPC is also planning to set up a sound system that will expand historical descriptions together with the statues of prominent people in the SMARAKAM. The tourism project will delve into the life of the settlement era and Idukki,” says Jose.
