Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the Bhogapuram International Airport on August 1.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, who reviewed the final preparations for the event at a high-level meeting, said the airport is poised to reshape the local economic landscape.

Mr. Naidu emphasized that the project, conceived during the TDP tenure from 2014 to 2019 and accelerated by the NDA coalition government, serves as a cornerstone for the future development of the North Andhra region.

Regarding the impact of the Shamshabad International Airport on Hyderabad, the Chief Minister said that Bhogapuram is expected to act as a primary driver of tourism, industrial expansion and general economic activity.

Apart from immediate connectivity, the project is conceived as a key element of the wider Visakhapatnam economic region.

Mr Naidu noted that the synergy between the new infrastructure – including highways, ports and irrigation projects – and the airport will open up significant employment and livelihood opportunities, leading to unprecedented growth in the region.

During the review meeting, the Chief Minister directed the officials to ensure that the inauguration reflects the artistic and cultural identity of Andhra Pradesh.

The planning meeting was attended by key officials and political leaders, including Union Minister K. Rammohan Naidu, Ministers of State Nadendla Manohar, Satya Kumar Yadav, K. Atchannaidu and Vangalapudi Anitha. BJP State President PVN Madhav, Chief Secretary G. Sai Prasad and Director General of Police Harish Kumar Gupta were also present.
