During the 10 years of the BRS regime, young people only carried tickets and leaked newspaper reports: Minister Adluri
Minister for SC and ST Welfare Adluri Laxman Kumar hit out at BRS working president KT Rama Rao saying that under the BRS government, unemployed youths carried only exam hall tickets and woke up due to paper leakage, while they carried appointment letters during the Congress government.
Mr. Laxman Kumar said that the Congress government had provided 67,763 government jobs in the last two years and that the recruitment for another 13,197 posts was in the final stage. “These are not allegations but official government records,” he said in response to Mr Rama Rao’s comments at the Yuva Sangramam program on Saturday.
Addressing a press conference at the CLP office along with government whip Beerla Ilaiah Yadav and MLC Addanki Dayakar, the minister said the ‘Yuva Sangramam’ rally was not attended by unemployed youth but by BRS leaders, party workers and “paid artists”.
Accusing the previous government of tarnishing the reputation of the Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC), he said the current government has restored public confidence in the recruitment agency. He said the government has completed recruitment for 562 Group I posts, 783 Group II posts, 1,370 Group III posts and 8,143 Group IV posts, taking the total number of appointments made through TGPSC to 17,326.
The minister said the government has also recruited 10,006 teachers through Mega DSC and appointed 8,400 teachers in residential educational institutions. 16,067 youths had been secured jobs in the police department, while recruitment for 7,437 more posts had been approved, he said.
He further said that 8,822 appointments were made in the Ministry of Health and that the Cabinet approved the recruitment of 643 posts in NIMS and 6,278 posts in TIMS hospitals. Apart from the notification for 15,982 posts in Anganwadi, recruitment was also going on in Revenue, Power, Singareni, Health and Gurukul Education departments.
Mr. Laxman Kumar said that the government has increased the upper age limit for civil service aspirants from 34 to 44 years, which provides significant relief to the aspirants. “The Congress government does not stop issuing notifications. It conducts the examination, declares the results and hands over the appointment papers,” he said.
